| German participation in the annual Middle East International Cable, Satellite, Broadcast & Telecommunications Exhibition (CABSAT 2002) to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from March 5-7, 2002, is stronger than ever. Many newcomers will participate in the event in a bid to increase market awareness of Germany's strengths in the broadcasting, cable and satellite sectors.
According to industry sources, the value of mobile phone imports from Germany to Dubai stood at just under AED 13.6 million between January and August 2000. Meanwhile, the import value of telephone sets and videophones from Germany, for the same period, was valued at just over AED 9 million. "The increased interest from German exhibitors is directly related to the continued opportunities the Middle East region presents for exporters to get a foothold in the region's expanding cable, satellite, broadcast and telecommunications sectors. Germany's strength in the above sectors is significant and trade professionals visiting the exhibition will have an ideal opportunity to investigate the many new products being developed in this area, by German companies," said Vijay Menon, International Project Manager, DWTC. Sachtler, one of the world's biggest suppliers of professional camera supports and luminaries, and a regular at CABSAT will be back again in 2002 with a range of new products. Among the products it will showcase is the Artemis HD, a state-of-the-art camera balance system available for use with camcorders and film cameras. In addition, it will display a broad array of luminaries for both studio and outdoor use, including the innovative Reporter 75H, an ultra-compact model. It will also the newest addition to its DV series of fluid heads. Transtechnik, which specialises in television studio lighting, will be participating in CABSAT for the first time in 2002. Other German companies that will have a presence at the exhibition include Ambient Recording GmbH, Dega-Expoteem GmBH, IAGB, M TS, Nesys Lichsysterne Schadl & Co., P&S Technik, Rohde & Schwarz, Salzbrenner Stagettec, Sedlbauer AG, Wela Electronic Handels and WISI - Wilhelm Sihn. |
