| prolight+sound 2008 in Frankfurt will see a plethora of exciting offerings from Meyer Sound (Hall 4.1 F21), including product presentations, a chance for visitors to win a trip to the Montreux Jazz Festival, a champagne reception at the stand, and two compelling panel discussions featuring leading front of house engineers and sound designers. Visitors will also experience the latest technology in professional audio, including a range of self-powered loudspeaker products that combine compact dimensions with extraordinary power and clarity. On Thursday, March 13 at 11:00, Meyer Sound will lead a lively discussion amongst legendary sound engineers including Big Mick Hughes (FOH for Metallica), Chris Pyne (FOH for Kylie Minogue), Dave “Shirt” Nicholls (FOH for Slipknot), Derek Featherstone (system design engineer for Dave Matthews Band), and Paul Owen (monitor engineer for Metallica). Moderators for this panel are veteran engineers John Pellowe and Buford Jones. On Friday, March 14 at 11:00, Meyer Sound will host some of the industry’s most sought-after sound designers, including Bodo Bergmann, Jonathan Deans, Brian Hsieh and more on a compelling panel discussion. Both events will be held at the MMV Lounge in the lobby of Hall 4.0. At the Meyer Sound stand in Hall 4.1, a new loudspeaker product will be unveiled, and the self-powered MM-4XP miniature loudspeaker will be featured. Other robust self-powered loudspeakers that will be shown at the stand include the highly popular MJF-212A high-power stage monitor and M’elodie line array loudspeaker, as well as other MILO family loudspeakers. Presentations on various professional audio topics will take place throughout the show, including Meyer Sound’s Constellation electroacoustic architecture, a technology that incorporates the physical acoustics of a space with expert services to create flexible acoustical environments. Constellation was recently installed at Gijon’s Laboral University in Spain. The stand features a dedicated area where visitors can get detailed product information and exchange ideas with Meyer Sound’s technical support services. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the company’s powerful acoustical prediction and audio control products, including the MAPP Online Pro software, Galileo loudspeaker management system and the Matrix3 audio show control system, which will be a top draw for professionals in the theatrical and themed spectacle markets. A pop quiz and “Design of the Day” contest with MAPP Online Pro will challenge the visitors’ audio knowledge and sound design skills. Visitors to the Meyer Sound stand will have a chance to win a three-day trip for two to the 2008 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. A champagne reception will be held at the stand on Thursday, March 13 at 16:00, welcoming all visitors to come by for relaxation and conversation. |
